We will glorify God by becoming a significant regional presence in southwest Iowa by:
Reaching "unchurched" families and singles of all ages.
Producing reproducing believers.
Multiplying leaders, small groups, and churches (both regionally and globally).
Our History
Faith Community Church began in February of 1984 with two families and a pastor interested in starting a church that would be associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. With the help of a men's prayer group at Christ Community Church in Omaha and two other pastors here in Red Oak, by April of 1984 a group of 12 people began meeting in homes for worship.
Faith Community became an "official" church by July, 1984 and within 4 years purchased land to begin a building project. The building was completed in March, 1992. In 1999 there was a campaign that expanded the building an additional 12,000 square feet to its current size.
More important than titles and buildings are the people of Faith Community. God has grown our church family from those faithful few at the beginning to where we are at today. Through the years He has continued to bring the right leaders to guide us on our quest to be significant presence for Jesus Christ in Southwest Iowa. Mike Nodland, Ken Heald, Paul Howard, David MacDonald, Dennis McDonough, Trevor Skalberg, and Brett White have all served as pastors here at Faith Community.
God continues to lead here at Faith Community. He has brought many individuals and families through our doors. God brings those who need to be here, either to receive from the church the healing and support they need for a season or to serve along with others to share the love of Christ with our church and our community.
And God sometimes, in His great wisdom, chooses to have some leave our family. Many of our former that God has called them to, others are serving as missionaries, and some are now pastors at other churches. We believe that just as God calls some to come to Faith Community, He will also call some away to serve where they are needed. We hold onto all that we have loosely, glad in the fact that God's plan is so much bigger than Faith Community Church. We are blessed to fulfill our part in it.
