Farmington Public School Foundation
The Farmington Public School Foundation (FPSF) was established in 1997 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The FPSF has funded dozens of teacher-initiated projects in the last 12 years starting with the robotics program at Farmington High School. We have continued to fund projects that help the schools go the extra mile to help our students be competitive in a changing world.
The mission of FPSF is to provide financial support for educational projects, programs and initiatives to enhance the excellence of the Farmington public schools. FPSF is not designed to replace tax dollars nor to affect the school budgeting and tax funding process in any way. The Foundation is independent of the Board of Education and has no political agenda.
We have identified skills important for students to succeed in the workforce in the 21st century. These skills will be needed to help our students keep up with changes in technology, communication and globalization. The FPSF has identified the following important areas:
Innovative Design Skills (creativity, critical thinking and problem solving)
Information and Media (Information literacy, media literacy, digital technology)
Science and Technology (hands on research experiences, problem solving, exposure to real life science and engineering practices)
Language and competitive business skills for the 21st century
Product Development, Marketing & Finance skills
The Foundation raises funds from individuals, businesses, and civic groups in the community as well as alumni nationwide. FPSF accepts applications for grants from teachers from all seven schools in Farmington through two grant programs: small grants in the $200-5,000 range and a large grant program for larger projects. Our current large grant project is to build a New Media Digital Arts Studio at FHS. Do you want to Donate?
