Mission :

Evangelism is at the heart of First Baptist Church.   It is the foundation upon which every other ministry stands.  It is at the heart of our message to the world.  IT IS THE GOSPEL!  The Good News of a Savior named Jesus Christ.

We have a very active Evangelism Ministry which goes out into the highways, streets, houses, and shares the Gospel.   Each month we have a worship service at the "Flea Market" which is a unique event in Buffalo Gap.  We go out into the communities, either around our church or elsewhere and share the Gospel.  Our Evangelism Ministry has as Kingdom Mentality in that we are more interested in people coming to know Jesus than in they coming to our church.  While our doors are open, we may go to other towns, at the invitation of a church, and help them Evangelize.   We encourage you to be a part of this foundational ministry which is the fulfillment of our Lord's last command.  (Matthew 28:19-20)

The heart and soul of Southern Baptist life is our Missions organizations called the Cooperative Program.  Through monthly offerings, over 40,000 churches pool their Mission Money to do a great work for the Lord.  IT IS THE LARGEST MISSION ORGANIZATION IN THE WORLD. Approximately 73% of its budget goes for Missionaries, 22% supports its Seminaries and only 3% is used for Administration. Click here to go to the Cooperative Program website.
