OUR CHURCH

      "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

In 1908, when there was no church building in the township of McAllen, a faithful group gathered in an open lumber yard with others of like faith to worship. Their desire to meet in a building of their own led them to a shared location with the Presbyterians, a school building, and even a theater. The Rio Grande Valley was a sparse and turbulent place. Yet neither hurricanes nor fires deterred our predecessors from their mission to worship together and to provide a lighthouse for the lost.

Today, we remain a Christ-centered church focusing on the essentials of Evangelism, Discipleship and Ministry. In these hundred plus years, God has provided a house where we have dedicated our children, baptized new believers, joined in marriage, remembered the deceased, knelt in supplication, cried in repentance and rejoiced in healing.

The Lord has truly blessed our church because it is a place where the Word has been faithfully preached, love for our Lord is kept in our hearts and lives have been changed.
