Mission

Fourth Baptist Church exists for the doxology of God and the discipleship of man.

By doxology, we mean the exaltation of God. Creation is for the glory of God (Ps 19). Redemption is for the glory of God (Eph 1). All that we do is for the glory of God (1 Cor 10:31Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). He must increase; we must decrease. In life or in death, Christ must be magnified. Publicly and privately. Corporately and individually. Everything that we do and say is for the "sake of His name."
By discipleship, we mean the evangelism and dedication of man. The Great Commission doesn’t call us to make converts, but disciples (Mt 28:18Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)). Discipleship is a personal and persistent effort to walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col 1:10Open in Logos Bible Software (if available)).
