About Us:
Nestled on the Allegheny River, within the majestic Allegheny Mountains ofWestern Pennsylvania, Foxburg is coming to life as a destination point not tobe missed. Maintaining it's history, dating back to William Penn, combinedwith dreams and vision of local enthusiasts, the old mining and railroad center of Foxburg is reborn. New life continues to spring up and flourish along this quaint riverfront town. Home to America's oldest continuous playing golf course and the American Golf Hall of Fame Museum, golfers travel from far and wide to experience this course. Stone churches, old grave sites and historic log homes dot the hillsides of town. Once a thriving town of 30,000 residents, Foxburg has maintained it's historical stone Library, live theatre, fine arts gallery and old brick bank building. Foxburg was home to one of the few remaining double-decker steel railroad bridges, pictured above, where trains actually crossed the river above the automobiles traveling under the train. In July 2008, we said goodbye to the old bridge and hello to a new, modern two-lane bridge.
