Mission
Gaston College is an open-door public community college, located in Gaston and Lincoln counties, that promotes student success and lifelong learning through high caliber, affordable, and comprehensive educational programs and services responding to economic and workforce development needs.

Kimbrell Campus
The North Carolina Vocational Textile School was approved in 1941 and began operation in 1943 in Belmont. It was later renamed the North Carolina Center for Applied Textile Technology. In 2005, the Center was transferred to Gaston College and became the East Campus and Textile Technology Center. The Textile Technology Center does new and sample product development, product testing, training, and consulting for the textile industry.
Currently continuing education classes and curriculum classes are being offered at the campus. Harney Hall was built in 1943 and has 64,000 square feet. The Classroom Building was built in 2003 and has 28,000 square feet and houses a 150-seat auditorium. The site contains 17.8 acres and has 233 parking spaces.
