The Goldsboro Recreation and Parks Department operates and maintains 11 parks, three recreation centers, an 18-hole golf course, and the Paramount Theater. In addition, the Recreation and Parks Department operates a variety of programs throughout the year for all ages. Herman Park—Goldsboro's oldest and most popular park, Herman Park is located in central Goldsboro, on Park Avenue between Herman and Jackson Streets. Facilities at Herman Park include a miniature train, 10 lighted tennis courts, three picnic shelters, a turn-of-the-century park house, a gazebo, a goldfish pond and fountain, and a large children's playground.
