Mission Statement:
Our philosophy of education is one which believes that the schools are maintained primarily for children, that these children are individual boys and girls entitled to be dealt with as such. We believe that the best results are obtained through democratic cooperation in the broadest sense of the word. Listed below are some statements which will indicate the sort of teachers we want.
1. We want teachers who regard their work as a real profession.
2. We want teachers who are willing to work. We are not unreasonable, but we do expect a full professional day.
3. We want teachers who are willing to grow by reading current professional literature, affiliating with professional organizations, attending and contributing to teacher's meetings.
4. We want teachers who are interested in Hardesty School as a whole, not merely one grade, subject or building.
5. We want teachers who understand that they must constantly be alive educationally to know what of the old to discard and what of the new to accept.
6. We want teachers who will become part of the community life of Hardesty.
7. We want teachers who understand the values of student participation in all areas of our curriculum. We expect teachers to promote fair and equitable participation in the classroom, school sponsored clubs, school sponsored activities, and in our athletic programs.
