Acres of tall Iowa corn has hidden one of Osceola counties proudest places, Hawkeye Point, Iowa’s highest elevation at 1,670 feet.
For years the point has been a destination for visitors who have left old license plates from states like Pennsylvania and Arizona. The Point has been known chiefly to local residents and to the National Highpointers Association, which has a mission to preserve public access for the highest points in each state.
