A six-week
summer program that takes place at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New
Hampshire, the Institute is based on the revolutionary educational
concept that young musicians can be taught to communicate the emotion
of music, beyond mere technical agility and beautiful playing.
In addition to the intensity of two private lessons each week and five
hours per day of practice time, the students take a series of one hour
classes each afternoon (one per day) in public speaking, voice, drama,
movement, and freedom of expression. This innovative, comprehensive,
and cross-disciplinary curriculum can
enhance anyone's ability to become a more expressive and communicative
person.
