About:
Herkimer County Community College plays a vital role in providing accessible and affordable education and training through its credit and non-credit programs. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, the college is a vital contributor to the economic development of Herkimer County, including a significant portion of the South Central Adirondack region.
Approximately 60% of the student body hails from outside Herkimer County, including all areas of New York State, other states and several foreign countries. More than 600 students live in campus apartment-style housing, making HCCC one of the largest residential community colleges. HCCC continues to develop new academic programs to meet the changing needs of the workplace, (most recently, Music Industry and Medical Coding/Transcriptionist) and continues to attract students to programs in Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Radio-TV Broadcasting, EMT/Paramedic, Physical Therapist Assistant and more. With 20 degrees and four certificates available completely online, the College is a leader in online education and recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Internet Academy. The College’s concurrent enrollment program, College Now, has grown considerably with 13 schools and more than 400 high school students participating annually.
