About Us
Library services have been provided to the neighborhoods just east of downtown Louisville for nearly a century by the Highlands and the Shelby Park branches of the Louisville Free Public Library.
These libraries were housed in early 20th century Carnegie buildings. In January 1994 the collections were merged and moved to the Mid City Mall, where the Highlands-Shelby Park branch is now one of the most accessible branches in the system -- on several TARC routes, with abundant parking, and with an open, inviting floor plan praised by advocates for the disabled.
