In the 1950's Mike, Matt and Pete Hrinko began Hrinko Nursery as a Christmas tree farm, selling mainly to the wholesale trade. As the years went by, the farm became a choose and cut operation for retail buyers. Mike and Pete bought out their brother Matt and continued the operation with their sons in the mid-1970's. At the present time, the Hrinko Christmas Tree Farm continues in business under the ownership and management of Dan Hrinko (Pete's son) and Jack and Chris Hrinko (Mike's son and grandson).    
 
In the late 1980's, Chris noticed an increasing interest in live Christmas trees (i.e. balled and burlapped) and purchased a tree spade to enable the tree farm to sell live trees during the holiday season and to expand the sale of live trees into the Spring growing season. In 1990, Chris and Stacy Hrinko opened Hrinko Nursery, selling not only trees grown on the Hrinko Christmas Tree Farm, but also containerizedshrubs grown on their property. With each additional growing season, Chrisand Stacy have added to their line of container stock, as well as plantingseveral acres of flowering and shade trees. Today, Hrinko Nursery offers a wide selection of shade, flowering and evergreen trees, both B&B and containerized. In addition, Hrinko Nursery growsmany varieties of ornamental and evergreen shrubs and perennials.
