The Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center, Inc. (HRPAC) is a New Jersey nonprofit organization whose mission it is to create and build a regional performing arts center on the spectacular Hudson River waterfront in Weehawken, New Jersey.
HRPAC's goal is to serve residents of Hudson County, as well as those of the surrounding North Jersey/New York metropolitan area, by presenting high-quality and reasonably-priced professional music, theatre and dance. The center will be unique in providing an intimate performance setting, specifically designed to foster a close relationship between performer and audience member, while at the same time taking advantage of the magnificent vistas of midtown Manhattan. HRPAC looks forward to expanding live performance opportunities in the area and providing an artistic and educational resource to the children of the County, many of whom have never attended a live musical or theatrical presentation. The center's presentations will be multi-cultural in recognition of Hudson County's diverse population.
The most recent Hudson County Master Plan highlighted the need and desirability of a new performing arts center in the County. It is the belief of HRPAC's Board of Trustees that this performing arts center should reside in Weehawken, on the West bank of the Hudson.
HRPAC is actively producing concerts on a year-round basis. Summer Concerts on the Hudson is a free outdoor series presented at Lincoln Harbor Park, adjacent to the potential site of the permanent arts center. The UBS Atrium Series presents free lunchtime concerts in the atrium lobby of 1000 Harbor Boulevard from October through May. As an adjunct to this series, visiting artists participate in arts-in-education programs, sharing their passion and talent with area students. An eclectic mix of music has been and will continue to be offered, including jazz, classical, pop, folk, and cabaret.
HRPAC looks forward to becoming a major cultural and educational resource for the North Hudson region.
