About Us

The Jackson County Chapter of the Iowa State Genealogical Society held the first meeting on June 21, 1976. We were formed to promote family histories and genealogy in general. We share facilities with the Jackson County Historical Society in Pearson Hall at the fairgrounds in Maquoketa because our objectives compliment each other - the line between history and genealogy being a very thin one. We meet at 1:30 PM on the third Monday of each month but researchers and members are there almost every day
