JSOP is an organization of business and professional people, musicians, teachers, students and just plain listeners working together for the purpose of advancing jazz music. The Jazz Society is incorporated as a non-profit organization affiliated with the Arts Council of Northwest Florida and a founding member of the American Federation of Jazz Societies.
Since 1983 JSOP has presented a multitude of jazz programs featuring nationally known jazz artists. The roster is too long to list but recent groups have included Al Belletto, the M 'n' M Trio, Jacques Gauthe, Dave McKenna, Holly Shelton and Lil Greenwood.

Working in cooperation with the University of West Florida, Pensacola Junior College, the African-American Heritage Society, Baptist Hospital Senior Expo, Pensacola Federation of Musicians, and other groups, we have presented The Navy Commodores Jazz Band, Hicks and Woods, Andy Marchese and Nnenna Freelon.
