Keith Bovenschen School is one of the Macomb Intermediate School District's Center Program Schools. We provide educational services for students with moderate to severe cognitive impairments, ages 3-26. We currently serve 290 students from Southern Macomb County.
Our Mission is to provide a nurturing educational environment that enables students to meet the challenges they face in their lives.
We follow the Macomb County Trainable Mentally Impaired/Severely Mentally Impaired Community Referenced Curriculum Guide. It involves teaching functional skills in real-life situations focusing on five main areas: self help/home living, vocational, recreation/leisure, general community, and functional academics.
We used a team-based approach to education with relies on parent and family input to create success.
