Highway 53 South

About Us:

Teaching and hands-on training at Kentucky Horseshoeing School is conducted in two buildings comprising a total of 25,000 square feet on the school grounds. The shop areas and classroom occupy approximately 10,000 square feet of that space and are outfitted with the latest equipment and visual learning aids.

KHS has four fully equipped work areas, complete with gas and coal forges, belt grinders, drill presses, knife sharpening stations and arc welding capabilities. There is ample room for shoeing horses with 10 cross-tie stations to contain horses for shoeing and more than 30 workstations, complete with anvils, vices and both propane and coal forges.

This configuration allows each student to work their own forge station and enhances student safety. For further efficiency and ease of learning, beginning and advanced forging classes/continuing education clinics are held in separate buildings.

While students may choose to lease an apartment or other housing in nearby communities, KHS offers separate dormitories for both male and female students at a weekly charge of $25.00. A senior staff member resides on premises at all times and supervises students living on campus.
