Mission Statement:
"We exist to promote in ourselves and in others an authentic, growing, practical, and Biblical love for Jesus Christ and all humanity"
History:
In 1995 Westerlo Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Don Lyon, began exploring the possibility of planting a new church in Southeast Albany County. Meanwhile, God had been preparing a native of the Bethlehem area for just such a project. On January 19, 1997 King's Chapel, meeting at the Reformed Church on Glenmont Road, had its first public service with five families in attendance. Desiring a location of their own, they began renting a space in the plaza right across the street from our current location. It soon became apparent that the rent alone on such a facility was almost enough to cover a mortgage on a modest building. 2002 marked a year of extreme change for the church. It takes a certain personality to start a church. You have to be an entrepreneur of sorts with a keen eye for long term vision.
