About the School:

The La Honda Educational Foundation (LHEF) was founded in 1991 by a group of parents who wanted to provide more services to La Honda Elementary school than state funding would allow. LHEF is a 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization so all the money we raise goes directly to our schools.

During the 2004-2005 school year LHEF we gave $60,000 to the district to be used for teachers salaries. Most of this money was used to fund a teacher at La Honda Elementary so we could continue to have small class sizes in spite of the state budget cuts and fiscal crisis felt by all schools.

LHEF is also funding the music program and the adopt-a-watershed project. We have several fundraisers throughout the year, but mostly we count on parents and community members for support.
