Open: Year Round
About Us:
In May 2008, Sam and Becky Best set out to build a winery that was an inviting and eco-friendly environment. When you walk in to Lakeview Wine Cellars you will be greeted by the Best's Irish Setter, Cabernet. The room boasts a beautiful tasting bar that was built by a friend and displays sand, stones and shells from all over the United States including places such as Ft. Myers, St. Augustine, San Francisco and Hawaii. Outside, their wine bottle shaped pond acts as a geo-thermal heat source as well as being used for storm water management, irrigation and fire control. They use no harsh chemicals, but instead use ozonated water to sanitize equipment.
The winery is a retirement dream turned reality for Sam and Becky who have been making wine for more than 30 years. All of their wines are made using grapes from local vineyards. Their premium wine varieties are fermented in Pennsylvania oak barrels. The oak imparts a smooth, clean, "oakey" flavor without bitterness.
Located just off I-90 in North East, Pennsylvania, Lakeview Wine Cellars is the perfect place to enjoy wine while chatting with friends on covered patios overlooking Lake Erie, their wine bottle shaped pond and the surrounding vineyards. The winery is fully handicapped accessible. WIFI is available.
