The League of Women Voters is a member-based national non-partisan political organization whicih encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.  The League does not support or oppose political parties or candidates.  Membership is open to men and women age 16 or older.  The League is financed by members and by public-spirited citizens and organizations.
