Earliest records give no information as to the date or founders of the Methodist Church in Lindale. Verbal information from senior members states that the congregation first met in a schoolhouse on what is now Park Avenue. Later, both Methodist and Baptist met in a building constructed by Massachusetts Mill. (The Mill was built in the spring of 1895 and named Lindale.) Lindale Methodists stopped using the building with the Baptists in 1904. They met for several years at Silver Creek Presbyterian Church on alternative Sundays.
