The Litchfield schools serve more than 1200 students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. This number represents approximately sixteen percent of the of the town's population. Center School serves students from Pre-kindergarten through grade 3 while students in grades four through six attend the Litchfield Intermediate School.  Students in grades seven and eight participate in the middle school program and students in grades nine through twelve attend Litchfield High School. The Litchfield Public School district has a long history of solid student performance and is proud of its student accomplishments in academic areas as well as in the fine and performing arts, community service, interscholastic activities, and athletics.  Students in the district consistently perform well in all standardized testing.
