Madeline Island School of the Arts is the country's premier art and craft school located on a uniquely restored Wisconsin dairy farm in the middle of an island surrounded by Lake Superior and the other Apostle Islands. Accessible only by ferry, boat or plane, Madeline Island has an art and craft tradition that dates back more than three hundred years during which time three different flags have flown on her shores.
MISA is situated on a peaceful, prairie meadow farm, on an Island that is unrivaled with its breathtaking views of sea caves, beaches, and clear blue waters with bright skies.
It is a location that provides tranquility to awaken the creative spirit. The beauty of this natural environment, with its quaint, village atmosphere provides indescribably perfect settings for painters, photographers, writers and other creative enthusiasts.
Madeline Island School of the Arts (MISA) is ranked among the top five art and craft schools in the country. The school is located on Madeline Island, the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands in Lake Superior.
The Island is known for its magnificent light and colors, creating an unparalleled setting for a week of creativity.
MISA’s workshop environment is known for its world renowned instructors in writing, painting, quilting and photography. Classes are held June – October in spacious studios, superior on-site accommodations with a staff that will ensure an unforgettable experience.
