VISION
The Vision of the Madison Community Unit School District #12 is that all learners meet and exceed state standards in core academics, are strategic problem solvers, proficient users of technology and are active and responsible participants in a changing world.
CORE BELIEFS
Whereas we believe:
- All children can learn, come to school wanting to learn, and will attain and exceed achievement goals when expectations are clearly set;
- Regardless of the level of knowledge present, all students have the capacity to learn with proper motivation and resources;
- Teachers must be continuous learners and accountable for demonstrating their base of knowledge;
- Through a reciprocal process, teachers will meet the needs of each student;
- Teachers, being the most important educational person in a student’s life, must continue to grow and learn themselves in order to provide a quality and actively engaged classroom;
- The purpose of education is to prepare students to become self-sufficient, morally productive and responsible members of society;
- Education should be child-centered, results oriented and data-driven in order to lead students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners;
- The school will provide the resources needed for learning to take place;
- In assuring the community that it is vital for our schools to provide the best education possible for students;
- The community helps support and is an active part of the educational process;
- Shared parent and community involvement is integral to the educational process.
