Our Mission
The libraries of Lake County are active, powerful places. They strive to enrich every person in our county by offering access to information, ideas and resources; by fostering the love of reading; by providing the knowledge to seek information in all forms; by empowering informed citizens to think independently; and by encouraging lifelong learning. We recognize the vital, valuable role of our libraries across the vast distances and rural landscapes of our beloved Lake County
The Lake County Public Library District consists of the main branch in Lakeview, and branches in Paisley, Christmas Valley and Silver Lake. The Lake County Public Library system provides free services to all residents living within Lake County, with services also available to non-residents for a fee.
The library system holds over 65,000 items, including over 58,000 books, 1200 books on cassettes and compact discs, over 3000 videos, and a small collection of music CD's. We even offer GPS units, telescopes and sound meters that may be checked out! In addition to these materials, many people use the library to catch up on local and national news, to search print and electronic reference resources, to surf the Internet through the Library’s high-speed connection or wireless access point , or to attend one of the Library’s many events.
