Extensively renovated in 1979 and 1997, the middle school houses grades 6 - 8. The building contains 35 classrooms, two gymnasiums, a multipurpose auditorium, and unified arts area. The curriculum at Margaret Bell Miller Middle School is designed for the adolescent and the many challenges they face. Classroom instruction is child-centered and multifaceted. Reading , writing and spelling are taught within the language arts classes. Pre-algebra and algebra are offered to the academically successful students. The industrial arts/technology program is a model. Physical education, music, art and home economics are required of all students grades 6 - 8. Band and chorus are offered as electives to all grades. Marching Band is offered as an after school activity. Students also choose exploratory classes that run on a 9 week schedule. Topics include everything from golfing to quilting. An enrichment program adds diversification to the curriculum, as does the intramural program. Interscholastic sports include: football, girls' and boys' basketball, wrestling, volleyball and girls' and boys' track.
