The Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina runs the Nash and Edgecombe Teen Court Programs. These programs serve juvenile delinquents ages 10-17 who have been charged with a misdemeanor. These misdemeanors range from possession of marijuana to larceny. The Teen court program is a diversion program for at risk youths where youths attend court, are sentenced to community service, a life skills class, and jury duty. The court room is run by the teen jury, prosecutor, defense attorney, and clerk and bailiff. Our judges are adult volunteers who serve locally in law enforcement and as attorney's.
