Established in 1861, with four station houses covering approximately 21 square miles, the Michigan City Fire Department is here to serve and protect 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All 85 firefighters are full-time fire professionals and are assisted by 2 civilian staff members. Based on our ability to provide excellent fire protection, we have received an ISO rating of THREE. This reflects the quality, dependability, reliability, and dedication of the MCFD to protecting our citizens.
