Middlesex United Way is a locally based organization dedicated to strengthening lives, helping people, and improving community conditions in the fifteen towns in Middlesex County.  Middlesex United Way serves the towns of Chester, Clinton, Crowmell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook.

The Women's Initiative celebrates the power of women to bring about positive change in our community through philanthropy and service. Our vision is to provide opportunities for women of all ages and backgrounds to invest their time, talents, and treasures to:

• Increase women's awareness of Middlesex United Way;
• Promote and increase philanthropic giving to United Way;
• Increase participation of women in volunteering;
• Raise awareness of the resources that women bring to the community; and
• Promote and recognize women's accomplishments.
