The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to meeting the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community. This Department strives to develop and maintain top-quality public programming based on neighborhood input and community needs analysis. The department is comprised of three divisions - Parks, Recreation, and Building Maintenance.
The Parks Division strives to provide the most beautiful and relaxing outdoor areas for residents and visitors alike. The City of Mount Dora boasts sixteen parks with exceptional landscaping and a variety of recreational opportunities.
The Recreation Division has created a vast array of programs and activities, including an after-school program, tennis clinics, softball and baseball clinics, yoga, tai chi, and many other fun-filled activities for all ages of the public.
The Building Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining all City owned structures within the City. This division’s priority is to develop routine maintenance schedules and formalized work order processes in order to provide for exceptional facilities and grounds that will meet and exceed the high standards established for the City.
