The Nestucca Valley School District 101 serves several small coastal communities in Northwestern Oregon. South County, as it is affectionately called, refers to the location in South Tillamook County. Our proud district consists of approximately 600 students housed in one elementary school, one middle school and one high school. There are approximately 90 certified and classified employees.

On closer examination you will find this district has many things to be proud of. We have been recognized nationally as a leader in quality service learning. Service learning is an important part of our curriculum K-12 that requires students to apply and develop knowledge and skills through challenging tasks that meet real community needs while teaching valuable skills to students. It is an effective program that addresses the whole child. It contributes to good citizenship, an awareness of the needs of the community, and helps students recognize their responsibilities as a citizen.

In that Northwest Oregon has an abundance of natural resources, Nestucca Valley Schools has taken advantage of the environment to teach science education. We are surrounded by the Siuslaw National Forest where water is abundant in the Nestucca River and the Pacific Ocean. The opportunities for real-life outdoor education abounds.
