Educational processes employed in North Park School District R-1 are to provide opportunities to individual students, to assist them in securing knowledge and skills needed to make adequate choices essential to their changing lives, and to assist every student to become a positive and effective member of society. Each child of the District is capable of learning the basic skills necessary to be a productive member of society and each child is expected to achieve and employ these minimum basic skills to an acceptable level of proficiency.
It is the District's belief that these educational processes require a cooperative endeavor in which many people are working as a team, organizing their skills and knowledge toward serving each student's needs,and challenging each student to achieve one's fullest potential. This task is achieved through: appraisal of individual characteristics; adjustment to realities; orientation to current educational, vocational, economic and social conditions; and a sincere concern for future development of personal potentials with a continuos focus on educating for each individual's needs.
North Park School District R-1 is to provide educational programs of superior quality in order to enable students to live responsibly in a culturally and economically diverse and mobile society. These programs will be sensitive to local needs and will focus on the development of the whole person and that individual's contribution to society.
