In 1976 a Bible study was started in the Port Washington area with the desire to start a Bible-teaching church. Open Door Bible Church's first service was held on January 2, 1977. The church originally met in rented facilities in Port Washington (for the first nine years as it turned out). Pastor Sid Litke came in 1984.In 1985 the original building at the present location was purchased and renovated and the first services were held on Easter Sunday, 1986. The next expansion was actually a subtraction. In 1987 God directed us to plant Grace Bible Church in Adell as an outgrowth of our ministry. In 1991 the building expansion began and services started in the present auditorium in March, 1994. Later developments included additional offices, developing the basement into educational space, purchasing additional land, and renovating nurseries and restrooms. In 1999 Pastor Jim Engelman joined the staff and in 2000 we began two worship services. Our vision for the future is simply a continuation of our history. We seek to meet the spiritual needs of people in the nearby communities and to accommodate the growth that God gives
