About
When The Greater Panama City Beaches Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1987, the primary industry in Bay County was tourism. Today, the economic support of this community is still primarily tourism, with military and light industry growing as segments. Panama City Beach is changing, and the Chamber has learned the importance of anticipating and preparing for changes in the political, social and economic environment.
The Chamber is heavily involved in the economic development of Panama City Beach, assisting the City and Tourist Development Council in developing a plan and marketing strategy, and bringing in more business parks and high-tech companies. Staff and members attend trade shows, bid on events, and bring numerous sporting events to the area. The Chamber continues to work in developing ecotourism though establishing and funding trails and greenways, nature parks, and programs of participation.
We are an aggressive Chamber, with over one thousand business members whose leadership and vision have put Panama City Beach on the map. We are an active Chamber, whose eight committees, award-winning publications, constant communication through numerous channels, and frequent events throughout the year are designed to keep our members informed and our visitors happy. We are an attentive Chamber, and we stand behind our mission: To support, encourage and expand tourism and business development, while preserving the quality of life in our community.
