Parma Rod and Gun club is a progressive organization whose goal and mission is to support the shooting sports on several different levels. Money to operate and improve your range comes from membership fees, match fees, grants, donations and labor provided by general members, board members and even folks and organizations that are not club members but who have an interest in firearms, shooting and the Second Amendment.
Our primary responsibility as a board is to secure, promote and enhance the Club for the betterment of its Members. Decisions made regarding club activities, educational offerings, training and other events must reflect the interests of our members. The decisions regarding club operations such as revenue paths pursued, funds spent for capital investments and operational expenses must always be conducted with a fiduciary responsibility to the individual member.
Our secondary responsibility is to the community at large. As stated in our charter, Parma Rod and Gun Club is committed to promoting the safe and knowledgeable use of firearms within our community. Providing range access and instruction to groups such as 4-H, Boys and Girl Scouts, as well as Hunter’s Education or women’s shooting programs are just a few of the ways we satisfy our commitment to the community.
Beyond these two responsibilities, the Club may elect to offer range access to external groups for events or special matches that require a range with the size and facilities available at Parma Rod and Gun Club. However, these events must be managed with an eye on the two responsibilities listed above. Whenever a conflict exists between our charter responsibilities and an external event, the Club will always choose to satisfy the best interest of the membership and community.
