History
The Library was established through the efforts of the Friends of the Pflugerville Community Library, who organized in 1981 and opened a one room storefront library in downtown Pflugerville in 1982. In 1985, the City supplied some funds for operation and provided a small house at 102 S. 3rd St. at nominal rent, where the Library remained until 1999. The Library was gifted to the City by the Friends in 1992.
With a new library as a goal, the Friends purchased the land at 102 10th St. in 1990, and a bond election in 1996 provided the funds to begin construction. The Friends donated the land for the Library to the City in 1997. In February 1999, the doors opened on the 12,500 square foot facility that houses the Library today.
