Mission:
The mission of the Plum City Public Library is to provide quality materials in a variety of formats, as well as services and programs which fulfill individual informational, educational, cultural and recreational needs to all citizens regardless of economic, ethnic, or social status. The library does not promote particular views or beliefs. It provides a resource where the individual can examine issues freely and make individual decisions. The library serves people of all ages at all levels of need with free access to and guidance in using its services by a trained staff in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike.

History:
The Plum City Public Library opened its doors in April of 1980, after a door-to-door opinion survey of village residents showed the need for a public library. In its humble beginnings, the library was housed in the basement of the former drug store, now the site of the village office. Despite the library's small size (400 square feet), Plum City residents generously embraced their new library, donating many books and providing financial support. Due to its expanded collection and popularity, the library was soon out of space. The village board purchased the library's second home at 225 Main Street, which doubled its size. Twelve years later, the library had again outgrown its space and the village purchased the former C.W. Docter Clinic Building at 611 Main Street. The 3,000-square-foot building was renovated and is today an attractive environment adequately serving our patrons
