Mission:
The mission of the Port Chester Recreation department is to create and promote recreational, cultural and play opportunities for all Village residents and to enrich their lives by preserving and enhancing all of Port Chester’s parks and nature areas. The Department has expanded its programs under the leadership of Superintendent Thomas Hroncich, who took the departments’ helm in 2000. The Village has used Community Development Block Grants from Westchester County to install new playgrounds at Edgewood, Joseph Curtis Recreation , John Lyon and Columbus Parks , as well as up coming Park improvement Projects in 2009-2010. Two new grass youth soccer fields are being built in Edgewood Park.
