About
Prince of Peace is a congregation with a message of comfort and hope. We preach the comfort that can only come from sins forgiven in Christ Jesus. We proclaim the certain hope of eternal life through faith in Jesus.
History
The history of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is a story of what God is able to accomplish from small beginnings. The congregation was organized in 1960 through the efforts of one family who saw the need for a church in which the Word of God would be taught faithfully according to the Lutheran Confessions.
In the fall of 1960, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Hansen and their family began holding services in a rented hall and later a home in Hecla. They were served by Pastor David Gullerud until the summer of 1961. In the summer of 1961 they purchased a home in Hecla to serve as a chapel-parsonage. This building still serves as the parsonage today.
