The Perkiomen Valley Art Department serves students K-12 at Perkiomen Valley SD. on Saturday, June 1st, 2019, the Art Department will host its fourth annual Art and Food Truck Festival from 12 noon to 4 pm to raise awareness for the arts at Perkiomen Valley and within our community.
Proceeds from previous years’ festivals have brought guest speakers such as; Abandoned America author/photographer Matthew Christopher and author/illustrator Kevin McClosky who spoke at building assemblies at Schwenksville and South Elementary in May of 2017. It has also provided funds in 2018 to purchase new iPad Pros and Apple Pencils to enhance student learning in the digital art realm in the elementary, middle school, and high school art classrooms.
Other activities include Spring RAKU Clay workshops that you can sign up through the PVSD Community Education program webpage, provide opportunities for Senior art scholarships, award summer art experience scholarships for students at the elementary and middle school levels, as well as the purchase of digital art making tools for all of the art rooms.
