Mission:

The mission of the Rabbit Run Community Arts Association (RRCAA) is to provide to people of all ages in northeast Ohio the opportunity to participate in quality and affordable programs, education and presentations in the visual and performing arts. RRCAA is the result of the consolidation of two former non-profit groups, the Western Reserve Fine Arts Association and the Friends of Rabbit Run Theater. Official approval of the consolidation was granted by the State of Ohio on November 21, 2000.

The Western Reserve Fine Arts Association was formed in September 1969. The school for visual and performing arts began in 1978 in Madison's historic Town Hall (c. 1867). In 1979 WRFFA was incorporated and classified as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Enrollment in art, music, dance and drama classes and lessons has markedly increased during the past 30 years as 400 students pass through our doors weekly. Cultural programs for all ages are continually developed including the Fiesta Latina festival, a celebration of the Latin culture, the children's performing arts series "Try Me", the Madison Jazz Fest, the Annual Juried Art Show, and much more.

Rabbit Run Theater, first opened in 1946, is one of the few old barn theaters still operating in Ohio. The theater was closed for a period during the 1970's, and re-opened in 1979 under the auspices of the Friends of Rabbit Run Theater.

RRCAA is actively involved in collaborations with other area groups including the Madison and Perry Schools (including Latch Key programs), Madison Public Library, and various businesses as well as the Madison/Perry Chamber of Commerce. Rabbit Run Theater maintains membership in the Western Reserve Tourist Association, the Lake County Visitors Bureau and Positively Cleveland (Convention and Visitors Bureau).

RRCAA is committed to providing the highest quality programs, curriculum and entertainment for the region. With a comprehensive curriculum and a variety of arts presentations, RRCAA is a vital advocate for the arts in our region.
