Robert E. Aylor Middle School is committed to fostering and advancing the lifelong learning process by which students become positive and productive members of our multi-cultural society. Our school has high expectations and we expect all students to achieve so that every child may be promoted each year. Students who are not successful will be identified and offered remediation through concept development, skill practice, and strengthening of study skills during the school year. We recognize and respect the differences of individuals and believe that each of our students can learn.
We will teach our students the skills needed to master the basic academic core subjects as outlined by the Virginia SOLs and guide them to develop higher level thinking. We will expose our students to vocational and technical experiences, encourage creative expression through the arts, and emphasize the importance of physical well being.
With the support of our parents and community, we will provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that will promote self-discipline, instill respect for self and others, and reinforce the best in each of us.
