The Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. proudly protects approximately 5000 people living in an area of 10 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
During the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday through Friday our department is supplemented by two to three career Firefighter/Paramedics.
The Career Staff picks up an ambulance from our sister station the Rockhill Volunteer Rescue Squad and brings that unit to the firehouse where they are able to supplement the volunteers at the firehouse.
The Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1976. We are located in the north western part of Stafford County. Our run area is bordered to the west by Fauquier County in which we run mutual aid with and to the North across the street from our station we border the training area of Quantico Marine Corps Base. The area that we cover is a rapidly growing residential area with some small business growth. We are a small department with approximately 50 active members.
