The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum is part of the Washington County Park System. On May 12, 2001 our 7,200 square-foot facility was dedicated. Located at the Agricultural Education Center, the museum contains more than 2,500 artifacts. The museum enjoys the generous support of the community, with most items on display having been loaned or gifted by local residents and others.
The museum is heated and air-conditioned and there is ample free parking for cars and buses. A gift shop is also located in the museum. As part of the museum's ongoing growth a small log cabin has been restored and a one-and-a-half story log home is on the site. A rural village is also planned for the future.
