St. James stands on the edge of the town of Louisa, with one foot planted in rural Louisa County and the other planted in town. If whogrp3you visit us, you'll find a wide variety of people in our congregation. There are professional people, business people, those who farm the gently rolling countryside, and active and retired professionals. We have octogenarians baptized at St. James as well as some newer members who have moved only recently to Lake Anna communities. Our fastest growing group is young couples with children.
St. James has both a full-time Rector and strong lay leadership with many talented people of all age groups willing to step forth and share those talents within the church and the community.
We are committed to perpetuating the best qualities of small town and small church life, especially as our area grows. We know that those qualities - caring, commitment and cooperative effort - exist in the hearts of people, and being people with lots of heart is what we are all about.
We’re often described as one big family– the sort of family that always has room at the table for one more.
