Saint Peters Lutheran Church

About Us:

Our church is named after St. Peter, a fisherman who was called by Jesus. Peter left his nets to follow Jesus and fish for people. Along the way he made mistakes, took risks, and learned to trust and love Jesus more and more. Together with countless others, he devoted his life to following Jesus, building a community of followers – the Church – and to changing the world they lived in.

Our congregation reflects some of the demographics of the Cape. We have many retired and older adults. We are “wash-a-shores”, but also some native Cape Cod families. Some members live here year around, from Barnstable to Truro. Others are only here on the weekends. We are also blessed to have friends who worship with us each time they vacation here on the Cape.

Our diversity is across ages, with people from different denominational traditions, and from different parts of the United States. What we share in common is our love of Jesus and our desire to be a part of an active community where people worship, listen, learn, seek and serve.

Our church is a part of the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We believe that we are doing God’s work with our hands.

We are also a part of the Cape Cod Council of Churches, an ecumenical group of Christians who work together in common ministry.
