The Saraland Lions Club was founded in 1956 with 88 members. Many of the charter members were Satsuma Lions, but lived and worked in Saraland. These Lions felt that they could better serve the Saraland community by chartering a Lions Club for Saraland.     The club met at the Saraland Woman’s Club building when first established, where Lions Club members remodeled the bathrooms and built a barbecue pit that was used for many fundraisers.
